and criminal justice reform, with a specific focus on their racialized impacts. Our goal is to provide the foundational policy and stakeholder analysis to equip the broader CJR community, researchers and funders with strategic tools for addressing CJR, with the overall goal of moving away from mass incarceration.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.5&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black;\">Over 2 million individuals in the US are engaged in some form of incarceration or supervised reentry. This unprecedented rate of incarceration disproportionately impacts Black Americans and is a result of failed public policy undergirded by outdated often deficit-based research.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.11.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;on|on|on&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.5&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; disabled=&#8221;on&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: black;\">With over 2.3M+ people across every facet of the American criminal justice system (CJS) \u2013 the majority of which represent communities of color \u2013 the path to racial equity drives through the heart of the carceral system. The research is clear \u2013 prevention is the most efficient and effective course for CJR.
